Taking on Brighton for children’s nephrology

Joel Burns is taking on the Brighton Marathon this weekend: “To say the charity is close to my heart is an understatement really. Without the professional expertise and care my twin boys Finlay and Felix received at Princess Anne Maternity Hospital and Southampton General Hospital, I'm pretty certain that I would not have shared and cherished all those special memories you share with your children over the years as parents.

There were many complications at birth for both boys which led to 10 week early labour and some very stressful times. Unfortunately for Finlay he was worst hit by this having the following diagnosed conditions whilst Felix seemed to escape the worst but still being kept on ventilation for a month after being discharged. There were many complications, including Finlay having a kidney transplant late 2014 from a live donor."
