  • Maritime Transport Ltd
  • Ageas Insurance
  • Marlands Shopping Centre
  • National Express
  • Natwest – Shirley and Southampton  branches
  • BLM Law
  • Reed Recruitment
  • ASDA Totton
  • Helistrat
  • Trethowans
  • Fredericks Chocolates
  • Woodlands Early Roots Nursery
  • Orchard Junior School
  • And all the amazing individual donors for their contributions!

Suzie Simmons, fundraising manager for Southampton Hospital Charity said: “As we have been inundated with Easter eggs, we have managed to get eggs or alternatives to every ward and department across Southampton General Hospital and Princess Anne Hospital for our patients and staff to have over the Easter period.”

“The majority of the eggs have been given to our various children’s wards and outpatient clinics, where they have been well received. You simply need to look at the photos to see what a treat and surprise this has been for the children and our staff. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated eggs this Easter.”

Carl Smith-Haggett is a driver with Maritime Transport Ltd. He asked drivers to donate Easter eggs for the children, with the initial hope of raising 500. “I’ve simply been blown away with the response of the drivers – our final count was 1,100 Easter eggs of all shapes and sizes! This has really made me feel proud to work where I do, surrounded by such generous people.” Carl even brought one of his large trucks to deliver the eggs, and dressed the part as an Easter bunny.

Paul Cann, Director of HR and Development at Ageas Insurance who collected over 500 eggs, comments: “We are very proud of our relationship with Southampton General Hospital and our staff are delighted they could have shared the joy and happiness of the Easter period with people who can’t spend it at home with their loved ones. At Ageas, we love to do our bit for the local community and support local charities whenever possible.”

Tim Keeping, General Manager of the Marlands Shopping Centre added: “It’s fantastic to see so much support from our shoppers and the local public. A big thank you to everyone who donated. It was great to hear the patients who received an Easter egg were delighted, with it really making their day!”
