Tesco’s delivers more than shopping this Christmas
It was a wintery day when Southampton Hospital Charity took the call that the Tesco Distribution Centre would be sending Santa’s sleigh to Southampton General Hospital to visit the children!
A festive sleigh was set up on the children’s ward and brought great cheer to the children. There were hundreds of toys and games donated by the supermarket.
Fiona Delement, Play Specialist, said: “Events like this really help improve the children’s moods as Christmas is a hard time for anyone to be in hospital, but for children it is so much harder. At Southampton General Hospital we look after children from 1 day old to 17 years, so we are very grateful to Tesco for donating presents for all ages. They really helped to bring a bit of magic to the wards!”
“The distribution centre also has the store in West Quay and the hospital is grateful for the amount of time the story put into the visit. A special thanks goes to James Murphy for making the sleigh during his breaks – it was amazing!”
