Forget me not flowers

We understand that losing a loved one is a very difficult time, but making a positive difference to celebrate someone’s life can be a real comfort.

By making a donation to Southampton Hospital Charity’s Forget-Me-Not Campaign you will be ensuring that patients at Southampton General Hospital and Princess Anne Hospital, and their families, are receiving the very best care in the best possible environment for many years to come.

You might like to request donations at a loved one’s funeral, as an alternative to flowers. Please speak to a family member or the funeral director to let them know you would like to support Southampton Hospital Charity and specify if you would like your gift to benefit a particular ward or department, so we can ensure we fulfil your wishes.

You can also make a Forget-Me-Not gift today by calling us on 023 8120 8881, donating through our Virgin Money page or by post to:

(You do not need to use a stamp but it will save the Charity money if you do – thank you.)

Please remember to let us know the name of the person you are giving in memory of, and your own name and contact details so we can write to thank you for your donation.

Suttons Seeds have very kindly donated forget-me-not seeds for us to send to our bereaved supporters. For each Forget-Me-Not gift we receive we will be sending the family a packet of seeds (while stocks last). We hope that they will find hope and comfort in planting the flowers, which omit colour and vibrancy in the shadiest areas of the garden.

Dedication star on tree

Our Shining Stars dedications

Christmas is always a special time of remembrance and reflection.

Last Christmas we invited our local community to dedicate a Shining Star to celebrate the life of someone who can't be with us, or write a personal message of thanks to our staff. The campaign and carol service raised over £5,000.

The messages were truly inspirational, and you can read more about our latest appeal here.

Tribute funds

Memory Giving

Memory giving lets you make an on-line donation in memory of a loved one. It focuses on simplifying the transfer of funds through to  charities, enables the gift to be increased through Gift Aid and creates an appropriate forum for donors to offer messages of  sympathy to the family and friends. Access their website here

Remember a loved one with JustGiving

By using JustGiving to create a special page, you can upload photos, leave messages and make donations to your chosen fund at Southampton General Hospital in memory of your loved one.  Any money donated through the tribute fund comes straight to the charity and is displayed on your page so you can see how much has been raised.  It is really easy to share the page with your friends and family so they too can pay tribute by making a donation and leaving a message on a birthday, anniversary or simply whenever the person comes to mind.
